LEVEL 2 - Level 2 explores and heightens the concepts and ideas introduced in Level 1. Emphasis is placed on developing a point of view on stage.

LEVEL 3 - During this session, students explore different methods to create and define a character. Techniques will be taught to develop a series of characters for use in scene work.

LEVEL 4 - This level focuses on scene structure: defining the beginning, middle and ending of scenes, finding the game with your scene partner and different ways to manipulate the energy of a scene.

LEVEL 5 - Students work to identify their strengths and to continue to broaden their range with a focus on workshopping performance structures.

Comedy Writing Classes

 

Sketch Writing 1 - In this introductory survey, students will gain a working knowledge of the components that make up great sketch writing and learn ways to kick-start their own writing. Using sketches from television, web, and live performance as examples, students will learn about scene structure, writing dialogue and popular sketch formats. In-class work will also consist of writing exercises, and reading/discussing student assignments.

MUSICAL IMPROV INTENSIVE (4-week class)

In this month-long, once-a-week workshop class, improvisers will gain the skills needed to execute on basic musical improv short-form games and long-form musical improv song structures. You will learn sneaky methods for crushing rhyme scheme in a song or rap, how to create basic but impressive hooks, and how to launch from scene into song...and back into scene. You'll also may dance a tiny bit, but only a tiny bit, and you'll look soooo cool doing it.

No singing or musical improv experience is required for this course, just bring yourself!
