Upcoming Improv Classes

Please note that each level builds off of the prior one. Students must begin at Level 1 and pass in order to be able to register for Level 2 and so on.

Course Overviews

LEVEL 1 - An introduction to improvisational techniques and skills. An emphasis is placed on working in a group, working with a scene partner and basic scene work.


LEVEL 2 - Level 2 explores and heightens the concepts and ideas introduced in Level 1. Emphasis is placed on developing a point of view on stage.

LEVEL 3 - During this session, students explore different methods to create and define a character. Techniques will be taught to develop a series of characters for use in scene work.

LEVEL 4 This level focuses on scene structure: defining the beginning, middle and ending of scenes, finding the game with your scene partner and different ways to manipulate the energy of a scene.

LEVEL 5 Students work to identify their strengths and to continue to broaden their range with a focus on workshopping performance structures.

LEVEL 6 In this final session, students are paired with a director to create a culminating original comedy revue open to the public at the end of the level.
