Improv Asylum Upcoming Improv Classes
LEVEL 1 An introduction to improvisational techniques and skills. An emphasis is placed on working in a group, working with a scene partner and basic scene work.
LEVEL 2 Level 2 explores and heightens the concepts and ideas introduced in Level 1. Emphasis is placed on developing a point of view on stage.
During this session, students explore different methods to create and define a character. Techniques will be taught to develop a series of characters for use in scene work.
This level focuses on scene structure: defining the beginning, middle and ending of scenes, finding the game with your scene partner and different ways to manipulate the energy of a scene.
Students work to identify their strengths and to continue to broaden their range with a focus on workshopping performance structures.
In this final session, students are paired with a director to create a culminating original comedy revue open to the public at the end of the level.
Please note that each level builds off of the prior one. Students must begin at Level 1 and pass in order to be able to register for Level 2 and so on.
