Improv Asylum is now hiring bartenders

Applicants must be a minimum of 21 years in age when applying and have two years bartending experience. Must currently be TIPS or ServSafe certified in alcohol service in the state of Massachusetts. You can fill out an on-line application by clicking here.

Internship Program

Improv Asylum has several ways for you to get involved in our company. Internships are important positions at Improv Asylum and we require reliable, honest and hard-working individuals. Our internships have open enrollment and all are unpaid positions. However, many of our past interns have gotten school credit for their positions and we would encourage you to do the same. You are also eligible for company perks as well.

Film Intern
This intern will creatively film sketches nightly in our 180-seat theater. Scenes will be edited in Final Cut Pro and professionally produced. We are looking for candidates who have knowledge of professional camera and editing equipment and a great eye for videography.

Interns will also work as camera/ lighting and sound crew for location and studio productions.

Theater Intern
This intern will assist the director of the main stage cast with various theatrical projects. A typical day can include recording rehearsal, transcribing sketches and contributing to production ideas to name a few things. Office Assistant (intern) Needed!

Do you thrive in an “anything goes” atmosphere? Want to be part of a creative work environment? Have what it takes to be part of a team? We have an opening for an office assistant. While unpaid, this position comes with many perks. This person will assist in the office working for an executive staff of 5. You will be working in various capacities for the Director of Operations, the Day Manager, the Events Manager and the co-owners. Projects will include scanning and altering images in Photoshop, running errands, research, donations, updating web content and general office help. Knowledge in Adobe Photoshop, Excel and Word preferred. Must be organized and detail-oriented.

Marketing/Publicity Intern
This intern will help to develop marketing materials as well as press releases. Our marketing and promotions will come from your ideas. You will be able to see a project through from idea to implementation. In addition, you will work on our press kits, mailing lists, marketing databases and publicity pushes for our events. Strong writing skills, phone skills and follow-through are important criteria.

Production Intern
This intern will the producer in getting all of our productions up and running. The productions include our main stage show, our NXT cast, our Touring shows and shows that are part of our A.S.S. (our After Show Series). Must be a go-getter and have the ability to go with the flow.

Theater Studies (non-performance) Intern
Marketing/Research
This intern will help the Day Manager in getting necessary information from and for our customers. Some of the responsibilities include gathering statistical information nightly during our shows, filming portions of our performances to upload to our web site and for other uses, etc. Must be a team player and willing to shoulder a variety of responsibilities.
